VLSI stands for Very Large Scale Integration. "This is the area that includes the packaging of logic devices in increasingly smaller and smaller areas.Thanks for VLSI circuit which would have taken boardfuls of space which is currently in a small space few millimeters across! This opened a great opportunity to do things that were not possible before. VLSI are everywhere ... your computer, your car, your brand new camera on the state of digital art, mobile phones and what you have. All this involves a great expertise on many fronts in the same area that we examine in the following sections.
VLSI has been around a long time, there is nothing new ... but as a side effect of progress in the world of computers, there has been a dramatic proliferation of tools that can be used for the design of VLSI circuits. Meanwhile, following Moore's law, the capacity of an IC has increased exponentially in recent years in terms of computing power, the use of the available surface performance. The combined effect of these developments is that now people can put these features several years in the IC, the new open borders. Examples include integrated systems, where intelligent devices are put inside everyday objects, and ubiquitous computing, where the proliferation of small computing devices sizes to such an extent that even the shoes that you can use actually do something useful like monitoring your heartbeats! These two fields are somewhat related, and enter its description can easily lead to another article.
